Politician Ľuboš Blaha purchases luxury villa in Bratislava

European Parliament member and Smer vice-chairman Ľuboš Blaha has purchased a three-story villa in the Kramáre district of Bratislava. The property, which has a usable area of nearly 400 square meters, was listed for approximately 950,000 euros.

This acquisition is Blaha's second major real estate holding; he has also owned a large apartment in Bratislava's Old Town for 11 years. The combined value of his properties is estimated to exceed 1.5 million euros. Blaha stated on social media that the house was purchased entirely through a mortgage from VÚB bank, which he is repaying with his monthly salary as an MEP, which is nearly 9,000 euros.

The purchase has drawn attention due to the contrast between Blaha's lifestyle and his political rhetoric. He has frequently expressed public disdain for wealthy individuals and has characterized political opponents as “wealthy snobs” while cultivating an image as an ordinary citizen.
