Polizia Stradale agents assist woman in labor on SS36

Polizia Stradale agents in Bellano successfully assisted a woman in labor who was stuck in traffic on the SS36 highway. Superintendent William Poncia and agent Simone Soldano created a corridor through stationary vehicles to allow the family to reach the Manzoni Hospital in Lecco quickly.

Regional Undersecretary Mauro Piazza praised the intervention, citing it as a demonstration of professionalism and duty. He noted that this follows a similar successful intervention in July 2026, where agents also helped a woman reach the hospital in time to give birth.
