Pollica celebrates Mediterranean Diet with communal feast in Acciaroli

The town of Pollica will host the third edition of the Tavolata del Cilento in Acciaroli on Sunday, November 15. This communal lunch, organized by the Municipality of Pollica, aims to celebrate the Mediterranean Diet as a shared cultural heritage and a tool for social connection.

The event is part of the “Buon Compleanno Dieta Mediterranea” festivities, marking the 16th anniversary of the Mediterranean Diet being recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The celebration transforms the seaside village into a large gathering space where residents and visitors can share traditional local dishes.

The menu features Cilento specialties, including a mixed appetizer of Vatolla onion frittata, roasted artichokes, and mozzarella in mortella, followed by fresh cavatelli with tomato and cacioricotta. The main course consists of Cilento-style chicken prepared with potatoes, local olives, and aromatic herbs. Participation requires a reservation via the Posto Riservato platform at a cost of 24 euros.
