Pollica, Italy awarded top spot in Legambiente’s “Il mare più bello” guide
The municipality of Pollica in the province of Salerno received the 2026 5 Vele award, the highest distinction in the “Il mare più bello” guide published by Legambiente and the Touring Club Italiano. The prize, which recognises excellence in environmental quality, waste management, tourism sustainability and community services, was presented during Venice Climate Week in the presence of Legambiente president Stefano Ciafani and Pollica mayor Stefano Pisani.
Mayor Pisani said the award reflects the community’s long‑term commitment to sustainable tourism, adding that Pollica aims to turn visitors into “temporary citizens” who help preserve the local environment. The ceremony also highlighted the Paideia Campus, founded by the Future Food Institute, as a centre for ecological education and innovation in the area.
