Polo Hotel Kohima inaugurated as Nagaland’s first five-star hotel

The Polo Hotel Kohima, a 56-room luxury establishment located at New Minister Hill, was formally inaugurated on October 24. As the first chain hotel to open in Nagaland, the property is part of the Polo Hotels Group.

During the inauguration, Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav emphasized that the hotel represents an investment in the region's future and the creation of livelihood opportunities. He noted that as Nagaland gains attention as a tourism destination, the demand for professional hospitality services and quality accommodation is increasing.

The Governor highlighted the importance of linking the hospitality sector with local entrepreneurs, artisans, and farmers to ensure tourism benefits local communities and the youth. He also stressed the need for sustainable tourism practices, including responsible waste management and environmental protection, to support the state's long-term economic prospects and cultural heritage.
