Polo Nautico Carrara submits binding offer for La Spezia shipyard

Polo Nautico Carrara (PNC), a company owned by Sanlorenzo and Polo Nautico Viareggio, has submitted a binding asset deal offer to acquire the ‘Cantiere di La Spezia’ branch of The Italian Sea Group (TISG).

The revised proposal focuses exclusively on the La Spezia shipyard rather than the entire TISG group. This strategic shift aims to reduce execution complexity and simplify the ownership structure. Sanlorenzo now holds full control of the acquisition vehicle through its 50% stake in PNC and its control over Polo Nautico Viareggio.

Proponents of the deal state that the narrow scope is intended to safeguard the local supply chain and maintain employment levels at the production site. While TISG has received four other binding offers, two of those target the group's entire operational perimeter. Bank of America analysts noted that the reduced scope could be positive due to lower operational and executive complexities.
