Polonia Bydgoszcz pushes for Ekstraliga promotion as Max Fricke nears transfer

Polonia Bydgoszcz continued its strong form in the Metalkas 2 Ekstraliga, defeating Innpro ROW Rybnik in front of its home crowd. Danish rider Nicolai Klindt praised his own performance but expressed disappointment with the team's overall result, saying he “requires more” after the loss.

Club president Jerzy Kanclerz confirmed that Polonia is actively negotiating with Grand Prix regular Max Fricke, aiming to secure the Australian rider before the season’s promotion is decided. The potential signing follows a series of strategic moves, including discussions about other riders such as Szymon Woźniak, Wiktor Przyjemski, and possible junior talent. The club hopes that the addition of Fricke, a former Grand Prix participant, will strengthen its bid for promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga.

Polonia’s pursuit of Fricke reflects broader competition among Polish speedway clubs, with rival teams also evaluating their rosters as the championship race intensifies.
