POLREGIO reports 637 items left on trains during summer holidays

During this year's summer holiday season, POLREGIO employees found 637 items left behind on trains across Poland. The most frequent lost items included backpacks, suitcases, wallets, phones, and documents.

Notable unusual items recovered included a pink ukulele, a bicycle, a child's car seat, a clothes rack, and even a frozen pizza in a thermal bag. In one instance, a groom managed to recover his wedding suit and shirt before his ceremony.

Regional data shows that passengers in the West Pomeranian, Lesser Poland, Łódź, and Pomeranian voivodeships were the most frequent to lose items. Currently, 45% of the lost belongings have been returned to their owners, though some regions, such as Lublin, achieved a 100% return rate. POLREGIO operates 14 Lost Property Offices to assist passengers in locating and retrieving their belongings.
