Poltár and Kráľovský Chlmec announce local community initiatives

The town of Poltár has announced an autumn cleaning initiative scheduled from October 5 to October 30, 2026. In cooperation with Technical Services Poltár, large-capacity containers for bulky waste will be placed at various locations throughout the town according to a rolling schedule.

Residents are advised that certain items, such as construction waste, hazardous materials, tires, and batteries, are prohibited from these containers. A mobile collection for electronic waste, including computers and refrigerators, is scheduled for October 22, 2026, at the Technical Services site. Additionally, biodegradable garden waste can be delivered to the local composting facility.

Separately, in Kráľovský Chlmec, Mayor Károly Pataky issued a message of gratitude to the town's elderly residents in observance of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1, 2026. The mayor emphasized the importance of honoring the contributions of older generations to the community and encouraged citizens to spend time with elderly relatives and neighbors.
