Polynesian Player of the Year watch list announced

Several college football players have been named to the preseason watch list for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award. The list includes 69 players representing 36 different programs.

From Boise State University, defensive lineman David Latu and offensive lineman Stewart Taufawere have been selected. Latu previously played for BYU and Snow College, while Taufawere has appeared in games for both Boise State and Utah State.

Oregon State University is represented by three players: defensive tackle Daniel Matagi, offensive lineman Josiah Timoteo, and defensive back Salasa Vadrawale III. Matagi transferred from Portland State, Timoteo from Nevada, and Vadrawale previously played for California.

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame will announce the finalists on December 8, with the winner to be revealed on December 15. The recipient will be recognized during the Polynesian Bowl and the Hall of Fame Celebration Dinner in January 2027.
