AADE issues 50% ENFIA tax reduction for small settlements
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has issued new 2026 ENFIA property tax assessments, providing a 50% reduction for primary residences located in small settlements. This corrective measure applies to 15,689 property rights belonging to 15,304 individuals, with a total tax relief amounting to 806,587.66 euros.
The reduction targets taxpayers who updated their electricity supply numbers in their E9 declarations following the initial central assessment, as well as those whose primary residence status had not been fully identified. Eligible settlements include those with populations up to 1,500 nationwide (including certain islands in Attica) and up to 1,700 in specific regions such as Western Macedonia, Evros, and border municipalities in Central Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, and Epirus.
Beneficiaries will be notified via email and through their personal ‘My Messages’ inbox on the myAADE digital portal. Tax offsets and refunds are currently being processed and are expected to be completed within the coming week. To receive refunds, taxpayers must ensure a valid IBAN is registered in the AADE registry.
