Pomigliano d’Arco: Gunshot from scooter causes panic

On Saturday evening, September 26, a single gunshot was fired into the air in via Passariello, Pomigliano d’Arco, causing panic among local residents. According to initial reports, three individuals were traveling on a single scooter when one of them discharged a handgun.

No injuries or property damage were reported. Carabinieri from the Castello di Cisterna station responded to the scene to conduct ballistic assessments and collect testimonies. Investigators noted that no shell casings were found at the site, a detail currently under evaluation.

Authorities are investigating several possibilities, including a ‘stesa’—a term used to describe gunfire in the street often associated with criminal intimidation—or an isolated incident. Police are reviewing local surveillance footage to identify the three individuals involved and determine the motive behind the shot.
