Pomigliano d'Arco man found dead in home after two weeks
A 74-year-old man was found dead in his home in Pomigliano d'Arco, near Naples, approximately two weeks after his passing. The discovery was made after neighbors reported a strong odor and liquids leaking from under the apartment door on Viale Alfa Romeo.
Local municipal police attempted to contact the man, a retired Army non-commissioned officer, without success. Firefighters eventually accessed the apartment from the outside using a ladder truck. Upon entering, they found the body in an advanced state of decomposition.
Preliminary medical examinations suggest the death was due to natural causes and do not indicate any violence. The Nola Prosecutor's Office has authorized the release of the body to the man's family. The deceased lived alone and had no spouse or children.
