Pompei: Pickpocket arrested after stealing tourist's phone

A 63-year-old man was arrested by the Polizia Ferroviaria after stealing a smartphone from a tourist on the Circumvesuviana train line. The incident occurred during rush hour at the Pompei station, a busy transit point for commuters and tourists visiting the archaeological sites and the Sorrento coast.

Railway police officers had been monitoring the suspect after noticing his suspicious behavior while he studied the crowd at the platform. The man waited for the EAV train to Sorrento and used the congestion near the doors to skillfully snatch the phone from the victim's back pocket. The thief was apprehended by officers following the theft.
