Pompei railway station assault leads to attempted murder arrest

An individual has been arrested for attempted murder following an attack at the Pompei railway station. According to the Railway Police, the incident occurred in a station underpass after a dispute over trivial matters. One suspect allegedly used a 20-centimeter screwdriver to strike a third party in the head.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Castellammare di Stabia for medical treatment. The arrested individual, who was already under supervised release, was taken to the Poggioreale prison following orders from the Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata.

In response to recent unrest and protests in the region, law enforcement agencies—including the Polfer, Carabinieri, and Digos—have increased security presence at the station. During recent preventive operations, officers identified approximately 60 youths using metal detectors, though no weapons were seized during those specific checks.
