Pompei stabbing: 21-year-old arrested for market attack

A 21-year-old man has been placed under house arrest following a violent attack at a flower market in Pompei on June 20. The suspect, who was already detained in the Poggioreale prison in Naples for a separate matter, faces charges of aggravated theft, aggravated personal injury, and unlawful possession of weapons.

Investigators determined that a group of youths approached a victim near the market, resulting in the victim being stabbed twice in the hip and thigh, causing a fractured femur. The suspect is also accused of instigating one of the participants to steal the victim's Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle. The arrest was ordered by a judge from the Court of Torre Annunziata following an investigation involving surveillance footage and witness testimony.
