Ponant and Quark unveil expanded 2028 Arctic and Antarctic expedition itineraries

Ponant Explorations announced an increased slate of Arctic voyages for 2028, offering more than 35 itineraries that cover the North Pole, Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland. Four expedition ships will operate between May and October, including the luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot, with trips ranging from $10,450 to $72,180 per passenger.

Quark Expeditions opened early bookings for over 70 departures across its Arctic 2028 season and Antarctic 2028‑2029 season, the earliest launch in the company’s 35‑year history. New programmes include a guided photography course, expedition extensions to Chile’s Torres del Paine, Iguazú Falls, Finland and Iceland, and a Northwest Passage route. The Antarctic schedule features visits to the Peninsula, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, Patagonia and a helicopter‑accessed Emperor Penguin colony on Snow Hill Island. Quark will also provide 470 cruise nights for scientific and conservation partners.

Both operators emphasize wildlife, climate research and cultural immersion as central elements of the luxury polar travel experience.
