Ponant Explorations launches Arctic 2028 season; Explora Journeys unveils Alaska 2027 excursions

Ponant Explorations announced its 2028 Arctic cruise season, offering more than 35 departures across the Far North from May to October 2028. Four ships, including the ice‑breaking vessel Le Commandant Charcot, will sail to the Geographic North Pole, Greenland, Svalbard, Iceland and parts of North America. Highlights include eight North‑Pole voyages, itineraries through the Northwest Passage, wildlife‑focused activities such as polar plunges, kayaking and snowshoeing, and visits to Inuit communities.

Explora Journeys revealed its EXPLORA III Alaska itinerary for the summer of 2027, running May‑September. Shore‑excursions feature helicopter flights over the Juneau Icefield with a landing on Mendenhall Glacier, catamaran and jet‑boat tours of Hubbard, LeConte and Shakes glaciers, bear‑watching in Ketchikan, whale‑watching from Prince Rupert, and cultural visits with the Kitsumkalum community and the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad. The ship provides 461 ocean‑front suites and amenities such as heated pools, a spa and new dining venues.
