Prabowo attends 100th anniversary of Gontor Islamic boarding school

President Prabowo Subianto attended the 100th anniversary celebration of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG) in Ponorogo, East Java, on September 19, 2026. During the event, the President inaugurated the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Darussalam (Unida) Gontor.

During the ceremony, Prabowo received a Mushaf Al-Quran produced by Gontor students and the book ‘Gontor untuk Indonesia,’ which documents the institution's century of contributions to the nation. He also expressed support for Palestine, calling for national strength and independence to avoid being exploited by foreign interests.

In his address, the President emphasized the importance of integrity, urging leaders to be honest and avoid corruption. He stressed that character building must be paired with fundamental needs, such as nutrition, to ensure the younger generation can grow healthy and capable. He also called for critical thinking among leaders to prevent them from being easily misled.
