Ponferrada and Valencia de Don Juan open municipal pools for the summer

The Ponferrada City Council announced that its three summer pools – El Plantío, Flores del Sil and Fuentes Nuevas – will open to the public on Friday 12 June. Hours run daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with ticket sales split between morning (11:00‑15:30) and afternoon (17:30‑20:15) windows. Maintenance work included waterproofing, a repaired basin and a new bar at Flores del Sil. The council also introduced “AquaParty” events and continues its regular summer swimming courses, with registrations opening 23 June.

In Valencia de Don Juan, the municipal swimming complex is set to welcome visitors on 19 June. The 160,000‑square‑metre site features more than 5,000 m² of water area, including a wave pool, a “dragon coyantino” children’s play area, fast‑slide pools, an Olympic‑size pool and an indoor adventure park with sports courts. On‑site kiosks, a café and a restaurant allow guests to spend the whole day at the facility.
