Ponferrada Mayor Marco Morala Set as PP Candidate for 2027 Election

Mayor Marco Morala of Ponferrada thanked the People's Party of Castile and León for naming him the lead candidate in the party's list for the municipal elections scheduled for 2027. Morala said serving the city is “an invaluable honour” and pledged to continue projects that boost the local economy and improve public services.

The regional government of Castile and León approved a collaboration agreement with the Ponferrada city council to launch a new vocational training cycle in Emergencies and Civil Protection at the city's Integrated Vocational Training Center. The programme, funded with €168,702 through 2028, will combine classroom instruction with practical training at the local fire station, aiming to increase youth employability and meet demand for qualified emergency‑response professionals.
