Ponferrada museums and Templar Castle host 80,000 summer visitors

The Castillo de los Templarios and municipal museums in Ponferrada recorded 80,000 visitors during the summer season. The fortress accounted for 59,000 of these visits, while the three local museums hosted 21,000 visitors.

The summer programming included over 50 activities, such as theatrical tours, concert cycles, and special events related to a solar eclipse. Cultural offerings featured performances by the Ponferrada Symphony Orchestra and an orchestra from Taiwan, alongside historical recreations and exhibitions.

Continuing this cultural momentum, the Asociación Cultural Abelladeira will present the new album 'O ronsel do meu sentir' by bagpiper Xoán Carlos Rilo Fraga at the Castillo de los Templarios on September 27. The event marks the start of the association's 2026-2027 program.
