Ponferrada PSOE denounces transparency obstacles in municipal contracts

The PSOE municipal group in Ponferrada has denounced recurring obstacles to accessing municipal files, accusing the current government of hindering transparency and preventing the opposition from performing its oversight duties.

A central point of contention involves the contract for works near the former MSP coal plants. PSOE spokesperson Olegario Ramón has raised doubts regarding the legality of the procedure, noting that the winning company, Zaobra, submitted an offer dated before the official request for proposals. He also questioned the lack of standard signatures on certain documents.

In response, Lidia Coca, the Councilor for European Funds, denied any irregularities. She explained that the discrepancies arose because the initial procurement process had to be annulled due to a formal error regarding European Union logos. According to Coca, a second procedure was launched, which explains why the company had previous documentation and why the project costs remained consistent.
