Ponorogo-Trenggalek highway tree fall kills elderly woman

A fallen tree on the Ponorogo-Trenggalek highway in Winong Village, Jetis District, Ponorogo, resulted in the death of a 67-year-old woman identified as Nanik Nuryati.

The incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon when a tree suddenly collapsed onto the roadway, striking two passing motorcycles. Nanik Nuryati, a passenger on a Honda Revo, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of that motorcycle, 37-year-old Rosalina Anesty, suffered minor injuries.

A second motorcycle, a Honda Vario driven by 18-year-old student Novi Aprilia Azahara, was also struck. While Azahara escaped with minor injuries, her vehicle sustained severe damage. Local residents suggested the tree may have been decayed prior to falling.
