Ponta Grossa: Elderly man found dead in apartment

A 77-year-old man was found dead in his apartment in the Uvaranas neighborhood of Ponta Grossa on Friday morning. Residents alerted building administration after noticing a strong odor emanating from the unit.

Because the resident lived alone and the property could not be accessed normally, police had to break through a side window. Officers discovered the man lying on the kitchen floor. Although the Emergency Mobile Care Service (Samu) was called to the scene, death had already been confirmed. The body was transported to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) for examination. Authorities have not yet released the probable cause of death or the estimated time of death.
