Ponta Porã student named finalist in MPT poetry prize

Edilaine Ferreira Benitez, a 5th-grade student from the João Carlos Pinheiro Marques Municipal School in Ponta Porã, has been named one of three finalists in the poetry category of the MPT na Escola 2026 prize.

The competition is organized by the Labor Public Prosecutor's Office in Mato Grosso do Sul (MPT-MS). The initiative aims to foster creativity and raise awareness among children and adolescents regarding their rights, specifically focusing on the prevention and combat of child labor.

The award ceremony is scheduled for October 21 in Campo Grande, where winners across four categories—Short Story, Poetry, Music, and Drawing—will be announced.
