Pontal do Paraná coastline revitalization reaches 37% completion

The revitalization project for the Pontal do Paraná coastline has reached 37% completion as of September. Managed by the Instituto Água e Terra (IAT), the urban requalification covers approximately 23 kilometers between Praia de Leste and Pontal do Sul, divided into six distinct stages.

Work is currently concentrated on the first phase between the Canoas and Monções seaside resorts. Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior inspected the sites, noting that the infrastructure will include bike paths, walking tracks, and a boardwalk. While portions of the project are expected to be ready for the summer season, full completion is projected for the first half of 2027.

This initiative is part of a broader restructuring of the Paraná coast, which includes beach nourishment, the construction of the Guaratuba Bridge, and road duplications intended to boost local economy and tourism.
