Ponte Blu association established in Piedimonte Matese

The association PONTE BLU – A.F.O.C.I.A.I. (Association of Families, Operators and Citizens for Integrated Assistive Intervention) has been officially established in Piedimonte Matese. The organization aims to promote the rights, assistance, and inclusion of individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other disabilities, specifically focusing on the Matese and Alto Casertano regions.

Pediatrician Emilio Iannotta has been elected President. Iannotta, who promoted the initiative, stated that his role is to guide the association through its initial phase, with the intention of eventually passing the presidency to a parent or caregiver. The association operates under the principle “with them, not on them,” ensuring that people with disabilities and their families are central to decision-making processes.

Key priorities for the group include addressing long waiting lists, enhancing specialist and rehabilitative services, supporting families, and promoting school, social, and professional inclusion. The association intends to collaborate with local health authorities (ASL), municipalities, schools, and the third sector to ensure continuity of care from childhood through adulthood.
