Ponte da Barca hosts tenth Olympics4all senior sports event

Ponte da Barca has launched the tenth edition of Olympics4all, a sporting event designed for seniors across the Alto Minho region. The initiative brings together participants from all municipalities in the Viana do Castelo district, as well as users from the APPACDM Ponte da Barca delegation.

The event began with a parade through the town to Praça da República, featuring musical accompaniment from the APPACDM Baquetas ao Rubro group. During the official opening ceremony, Mayor Augusto Marinho emphasized the importance of sports as a tool for active aging, improving quality of life, and strengthening community bonds.

The four-day program includes various sporting disciplines, with initial competitions featuring traditional activities such as petanque, boccia, and maha.
