Ponte de Lima to Host 15th ‘Charme das Bielas’ Classic Car Festival
Portugal’s oldest town, Ponte de Lima, will hold the 15th edition of the “Charme das Bielas” classic‑car gathering on 15 August. Organized by the Clube Limiano de Automóveis Clássicos (CLAC), the event will showcase around two hundred vehicles registered no later than 31 December 1979.
The festival includes an afternoon exposition at Expolima, a night parade through the town’s narrow streets and historic Roman and medieval bridges, and a police signalman dressed in period costume directing traffic. It runs alongside the local Feira dos Petiscos, offering visitors a combination of vintage automobiles and regional cuisine. The 2025 edition featured 170 cars from across Portugal and Spain’s Galicia, and organisers expect a larger turnout this year, reinforcing Ponte de Lima’s reputation as a destination for classic‑car tourism.
Thousands of spectators are expected, contributing to the town’s tourism and cultural profile.
