Ponte della Biacca remains closed to pedestrians amid technical checks

The Ponte della Biacca, which provides access to a cemetery, remains closed to pedestrians following ongoing technical inspections. During a city council session, Councilor Enrico Vassallo raised concerns regarding the progress of works and the timeline for reopening, noting that the closure causes significant hardship for those visiting the cemetery, particularly with the upcoming All Saints' Day holiday.

Public Works Assessor Massimo Ferrante clarified that the current construction focuses on consolidating the embankment wall rather than the bridge deck itself. The structure is under observation by the Road Directorate, and technicians have scheduled a follow-up visit to complete their evaluations. While construction is reportedly advanced, no definitive date has been set for testing or reopening.
