Ponte Milvio knife threat: bystanders detain aggressor

A 39-year-old man was detained by bystanders after threatening an 18-year-old with a knife at Ponte Milvio in Rome. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM in the busy nightlife area.

According to reports, the man, a Filipino citizen known to law enforcement, targeted a local youth. When a passerby attempted to intervene and mediate the dispute, the man drew a 21.4-centimeter kitchen knife and directed threats toward both the teenager and the mediator.

Witnesses successfully immobilized the aggressor, holding him until the Carabinieri arrived. The threatened teenager was left in shock but did not sustain serious injuries. The knife was recovered from the man's backpack during a search by authorities.
