Ponte Preta defeats CRB 1-0 to end five-month winless streak

Ponte Preta defeated CRB 1-0 at the Moisés Lucarelli stadium in Campinas during the 29th round of the Brazilian Série B. The decisive goal was scored by Brandão in the 39th minute of the first half.

This victory ended a 22-match winless streak for Ponte Preta that had lasted since April. Despite the win, the club remains in last place (20th) with 13 points, facing a significant gap to escape the relegation zone. The club is also navigating severe financial difficulties and administrative instability.

For CRB, the loss prevented them from moving closer to the G-6 promotion zone. The team remains in seventh place with 45 points. CRB coach Fábio Matias noted that while pitch conditions were poor due to rain, the team's individual and collective performance was also lacking.
