Ponteareas PSOE criticizes local government mobility policies

The PSOE municipal group in Ponteareas has criticized the local government for a perceived lack of coherence regarding urban mobility. The criticism follows the announcement of a new public electric bike rental service, funded with 43,838 euros from the Xunta de Galicia through the Tourism Agency.

Socialist representatives argue that this initiative contradicts recent local decisions, specifically the decision to allow vehicle traffic in Plaza Bugallal. They claim this move has worsened traffic and parking in the town center while increasing safety risks for pedestrians, particularly children. Spokesperson Vanesa Fernández stated that promoting sustainable mobility is inconsistent with increasing space for private vehicles in the urban core.
