Pontedera defeats Tropical Coriano 2-1 in Serie D

Pontedera defeated Tropical Coriano 2-1 in a Serie D match held at the Grandi stadium. The match was heavily influenced by a red card issued to Tropical Coriano’s Mattia Palma just ten minutes into the first half for a preventable foul.

Despite playing with ten men, Tropical Coriano pressured the opposition, but Pontedera capitalized on the advantage. Ortolini scored the opening goal for Pontedera with a backheel finish. Although Tropical Coriano attempted to fight back, Marie-Sainte secured a second goal for the visitors to double the lead.

The match also saw Tropical Coriano coach Roberto Di Maio receive a direct red card following protests over a throw-in decision. Pontedera enters the match under new leadership, with Gabriele Giannini replacing Giuseppe Mascara.
