A 9-year-old girl, Maria Eloisa Ribeiro Costa, has died following a motorcycle accident in Pontes e Lacerda, Mato Grosso. The incident occurred on the night of August 28 on Avenida Teodomiro Rodrigues de Souza, near the Bezerrão municipal gymnasium.

Security camera footage shows the child attempting to cross the street after emerging from behind parked vehicles when she was struck by a motorcycle. Following the collision, she was initially treated at Hospital Vale do Guaporé before being transferred to the Hospital Regional de Cáceres due to the severity of her injuries.

After spending nearly two weeks in intensive care, the girl passed away on Wednesday morning. Local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident to complete the necessary legal procedures.
