Pontevedra allocates €715,000 for municipal upgrades and promotes open‑air shopping centres
The Provincial Council of Pontevedra approved more than €715,000 for five municipalities—Mondariz Balneario, Mos, O Rosal, Salvaterra de Miño and Tomiño—under the Plan +Provincia 2026‑27. Funding will finance public‑space renovations, pedestrian routes and street re‑urbanisation, with allocations such as €87,000 for Mondariz Balneario’s historic area, €95,000 for O Rosal’s street, and over €252,000 for a new pedestrian path in Mos.
The Galician regional government highlighted open‑air shopping centres as a tool to boost local commerce in Pontevedra. Director General of Commerce and Consumption Gabriel Alén attended activities organised by the CCA Zona Monumental and the new CCA Pontevedra, including a campaign in Galerías Oliva and the launch of the Centro Comercial Aberto Pontevedra. The initiatives aim to stimulate small‑business sales and align with Galicia’s strategic commerce plan for 2025‑2030.
