Pontevedra and Ferrol municipalities launch road and drainage upgrade projects

The municipality of Pontevedra has approved emergency works to address flooding on Rua do Santo in the Lourizán district. The project will replace an 800 mm river channel with a 1.2 m pipe over 124 metres, add seven new culverts and a 73‑metre wastewater connection, at a cost of more than €491,000. Work is set to begin next week and is expected to finish by the end of September.

In nearby Ferrol, the local council has green‑lit a one‑month, €62,920 improvement programme for the A Rega and O Confurco rural roads in the parishes of Doniños and Prioriño. The contract with José No Mantiñán e Hijos Construcciones S.A. includes a six‑centimetre resurfacing, replacement of vertical and horizontal signage and drainage works, aiming to boost safety and mobility for local residents.
