Pontevedra Court upholds closure of Vigo drug distribution site
The Provincial Court of Pontevedra has upheld a judicial order to close a property on Calle Aragón in Vigo for six months following its use as a drug distribution point. The decision confirms a previous ruling that deemed the closure a proportionate precautionary measure due to the repeated nature of the criminal activity.
Investigations conducted over several weeks revealed a constant flow of individuals entering and exiting the premises, with many found in possession of cocaine or heroin. During searches, authorities seized various substances, including heroin, cocaine, and hashish, along with precision scales, packaging materials, and cash.
The court noted that illegal activities continued even after an individual was intercepted on August 20 while carrying drugs and 1,092 euros. The court dismissed an appeal against the closure, stating that the risk of the property being used for further criminal activity justifies the measure.
