Pontevedra province boosts tourism with accessible wine museum and theatrical castle tours
The council of Salvaterra de Miño and the Diputación de Pontevedra installed a braille printer and a magnetic induction loop at the Museum of the Science of Wine, improving access for visitors with visual and hearing impairments. The devices are part of the Visit Río Minho Plus project, co‑financed 75 % by the EU’s European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg V‑A Spain‑Portugal programme.
The Diputación de Pontevedra also approved €80,000 for theatrical guided tours of the Soutomaior and Sobroso castles, scheduled for October‑November and the Christmas season. The initiative, aimed at des‑seasonalising tourism in the Rías Baixas, will offer up to 54 slots, following recent €1.7 million works on Soutomaior’s exterior lighting to enable night‑time activities.
