Pontevedra Province Invests €1.4 M in Road Upgrades, Heritage Building and Teleassistance

The provincial council of Pontevedra approved a €200,000 allocation to reinforce the surface of ten municipal roads in the O Rosal area, part of the +Provincia 2026‑2027 plan that will bring over €1.1 million to the municipality.

A separate investment of €710,000, within a total €772,000 package, will purchase the historic Casa de Don Eloy (Villa María) in A Guarda for municipal ownership, preserving the building and its gardens for cultural and tourist use. An additional €62,000 will buy land in Oia for a new municipal depot.

The council also awarded a €500,000 two‑year contract for teleassistance services aimed at vulnerable residents—elderly, disabled or chronically ill—across municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Complementary funds of €225,000 will support children’s activities in the 2026‑2027 +Convivir program, and €150,000 will aid non‑profit groups promoting the Galician language.
