Pontevedra Province Receives €1.8 M for New Fast‑Charging EV Stations

The Spanish central government, through the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and funded by EU NextGenerationEU resources, has allocated almost €1.8 million to the province of Pontevedra under the first call of the MOVES Corredores de Recargo programme. The funding will enable seven new installations of rapid and ultra‑rapid public electric‑vehicle charging points across key transport corridors. Two sites are planned in the city of Pontevedra, one in Poio, and a fourth in Caldas de Reis, with additional stations in Vigo airport, Mos (A‑55), Cañiza and commercial locations such as a Carrefour store.

These projects are part of a nationwide effort that earmarks €97 million for 341 projects, aiming to add 2,674 new public charging points across Spain’s trans‑European road network. The initiative is intended to make electric mobility more accessible and reliable, supporting Spain’s decarbonisation goals.
