Pontevedra Provincial Council announces record 261.8 million euro budget for 2027

The Provincial Council of Pontevedra has announced a record budget of 261.8 million euros for 2027, representing an increase of approximately 10% compared to 2026. President Luis López presented the economic project, noting that the institution will maintain zero debt.

A primary focus of the budget is direct cooperation with municipalities. One-third of the total budget, amounting to 81.6 million euros, will be allocated to local councils, an 8% increase from the previous year. This includes 50 million euros for the +Provincia program to ensure basic services in small and medium-sized towns.

Additionally, the council is increasing support for inclusive employment. Through the +Emprega program, 100,000 euros will be allocated to eight special employment centers to facilitate labor market access for people with disabilities. These grants will be distributed among centers in A Guarda, Nigrán, Pontevedra, O Porriño, Vigo, and Vilagarcía de Arousa.
