Pontevedra Provincial Council approves Cine Fraga renovation

The Pontevedra Provincial Council has approved several agreements to advance infrastructure and economic projects across the province. A key outcome is the approval of an addendum to the agreement with the Xunta de Galicia for the rehabilitation of the Teatro Cine Fraga in Vigo. This adjustment reduces the project's execution timeline from 30 to 22 months, with completion expected by 2028, and includes a slight budget increase of 0.8 percent.

The Diputación will transfer a total of 10 million euros to the Xunta de Galicia's Culture Department over the next three years to cover 49 percent of the project costs. The Xunta will fund the remaining portion to complete the historic building, which has been stalled for 25 years.

Other approved measures include a 2 million euro credit modification to fund various initiatives: 1.12 million euros for the Príncipe Felipe sports pavilion, 844,500 euros for grass replacement and drainage improvements at the Pasarón stadium, 60,000 euros for works at the Palacete de las Mendoza, and 37,400 euros for the Val Miñor Integrated Action Plan. Additionally, 800,000 euros will be invested to create three new entrepreneurship hubs in Vigo, Ponteareas, and Cangas de Morrazo.
