Pontevedra sees hotel occupancy rise and early tickets for Feria Taurina
The 2026 Feria Taurina de la Peregrina in Pontevedra began a four‑day preferential ticket sale on Monday, offering a 10 % discount for purchases made at the Plaza de Toros box office until 23 July. At the same time, city hotels reported an average occupancy of 75 % for the first half of July, slightly below the 95 % peak recorded in spring when the Camino de Santiago and major sporting events attracted visitors. Hotel operators expect occupancy to reach full capacity in August for the Feria de la Peregrina and the Feira Franca, and to stay high in September for the World Triathlon Series final. Pilgrims on the Portuguese and coastal routes to Santiago have already accounted for 109,637 walkers this year, with the coastal route up 29 % on 2025.
