Pontevedra to host 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals

Pontevedra, Spain, will host the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals from September 23 to 27. The event serves as the season finale for the World Triathlon Championship Series, crowning world champions across elite, U23, junior, para-triathlon, and mixed relay categories.

In the women's division, Cassandre Beaugrand enters the finals as the leader with 4,000 points, holding a 225-point advantage over Beth Potter. Beaugrand can secure the title with a top-three finish, while Potter must win the final and hope Beaugrand finishes fourth or lower.

In the men's division, Vasco Vilaça leads the standings with 3,850 points, maintaining a 354-point margin over Matthew Hauser. Vilaça can secure the championship with a top-five finish.

The Spanish national team will be well-represented with 19 athletes competing across the Elite, U23, and Junior categories. The Elite women's races are scheduled for September 26, followed by the Elite men's races on September 27.
