Pontevedra to host World Triathlon Series Grand Final

The World Triathlon Series Grand Final, scheduled to take place in Pontevedra from September 23 to 27, is expected to generate an economic return of approximately 45 million euros. According to estimates from the Spanish Triathlon Federation (Fetri) and the Pontevedra City Council, the impact will extend beyond the city to surrounding areas such as Poio, Sanxenxo, and Vigo.

Local hotels report reservation rates exceeding 95%, with roughly 20,000 people expected to attend, including 5,400 athletes from approximately 100 countries. Due to high demand, many participants are staying throughout the province. The hospitality sector is also set to benefit, with an estimated average daily expenditure of 200 euros per person. To accommodate the influx, some local restaurants are extending their operating hours and offering specialized menus.
