Pontiac Bandits set to headline Ladysmith Days concert on Aug. 2

Griffin Russell and Kyle Rainone, the members of the Pontiac Bandits, will perform on August 2 at the Ladysmith Amphitheatre as part of the Ladysmith Days celebration. The duo first volunteered in 2016‑2017 as co‑ordinators for the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association’s Concerts in the Park series, spending over $12,000 of their own money to upgrade the venue, purchasing a professional portable sound system and hosting 16 concerts.

Their long‑term involvement also includes designing improvements to the bandshell and laying ornate carpets for performers. Russell is completing a master’s degree in public studies while both men balance family life. The Ladysmith Days gig is described as especially meaningful because it brings them from behind the soundboard to the centre stage of their hometown venue.
