Pontiac shooting leaves one dead and one injured

A domestic-related confrontation in Pontiac, Michigan, resulted in one fatality and one injury on Saturday night. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the 50 block of Monroe Street around 7:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officials discovered a 38-year-old man from Mount Clemens with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 31-year-old man from St. Clair Shores was found with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where he remains under guard.

Authorities stated the incident involved the deceased man, his estranged wife, and the individual taken into custody. While several children were present during parts of the incident, no children were physically injured. The suspect will be lodged at the Oakland County Jail following medical clearance, pending an investigation and review by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
