Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile launches abuse prevention program
The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile has launched an international online diploma program focused on the prevention of abuse and the promotion of a culture of care within ecclesial contexts. Specifically adapted for Spain, the program features a teaching team including specialists from Comillas, CONFER, and Catholic Schools.
Running from October 20, 2026, to July 6, 2027, the 200-hour course is designed for pastoral agents, educators, and professionals working in parishes, schools, and diocesan structures. The curriculum covers sexual abuse, power and conscience abuse, clericalism, and organizational risk, organized into four blocks: foundations of respect, psychological and theological understanding, prevention of safe environments, and crisis intervention.
